House prices rise over the last year

Homeowners will be pleased to hear that properties have risen in
value over the last year, according to new findings.
Yesterday (August 10th), Communities and Local Government released
its latest statistics which revealed that UK house values had
increased by nearly ten percent in June 2010 from the previous
year.
It also showed that the price of houses for sale in the UK had
risen by just 0.8 per cent in the last quarter to June, while
during the first quarter of the year they increased in cost by 2.8
per cent.
Houses in Wales had the most significant change in values over the
last year, growing by 13. 5 per cent while homebuyers in Scotland
will be relieved to hear that values rose by just 3.7 per
cent.
This comes as good news to homeowners looking to sell when combined
with the findings from the National Association of Estate Agents,
which revealed that there were more people interested in buying
properties in July compared with June.
