Home buying and selling process 'could see improvements'

The process of buying and selling homes in the UK could be
improved, it has been suggested.
According to the Building Societies Association (BSA), the industry
can work together to achieve this.
The organisation, which is a trade association representing mutual
lenders and deposit takers, has published the summary of a review
of the issue based on discussions with representatives from the
legal and conveyancing professions, as well as estate
agents, surveyors and consumer bodies.
It noted that the change in government may provide "fresh
opportunities" to make positive reforms.
Head of mortgage policy at the BSA Paul Broadhead praised the
abolition of Home Information Packs.
He added: "Work must continue to ensure customers receive better
value and an improved experience."
Mr Broadhead went on to suggest that a "key component" in the
reforming process is the issue of providing the right information
to the right person at the correct time.
